From Spreadsheets to Spotlights: How CASS Helped Light Up the Night for Cancer Research

When you run a business the way Paul and the team at CASS (Cloud Accounting Support Services) do, with genuine care, a roll-your-sleeves-up attitude, and a real commitment to doing the right thing, it’s no surprise that giving back comes naturally.

CASS is a family-owned cloud accounting business based in Tamworth, and if you’ve ever worked with them, you’ll know they’re not your typical accountants. They’re the kind of people who go above and beyond to get to know you as they care.

A Connection That Counts

Paul Barnes, founder of CASS, is a proud member of Connect Links. Which is a small but mighty networking group founded by Donna Reed and based out of Atherstone, Warwickshire. It’s the kind of group where real relationships are built, and it was through Connect Links that Paul met Cheryl Barnacle.

Cheryl has been volunteering for Cancer Research UK for years, and her story is one that stops you in your tracks. She lost her husband to cancer in 2009, and rather than let grief have the last word, she channelled it into something extraordinary. She’s dedicated herself to raising as much money as possible for the charity. To date, she has raised £808,708, and she is absolutely determined to reach £1 million.

That kind of dedication deserves to be celebrated. Paul thought so too.

CASS Steps Up as Headline Sponsor

When Connect Links decided to organise a charity ball to support Cheryl’s mission, CASS didn’t hesitate. Paul signed CASS  up as headline sponsor and volunteered Ali to be on the organising committee, because that’s just who they are.

The night itself was a brilliant one. Guests enjoyed a fantastic disco, a magic mirror, a 360 experience, an auction, and a raffle. It was the kind of evening where the energy in the room matches the cause behind it. And the cause was very much front and centre.

The Result? Something to Shout About

The night raised an incredible £5,727.12 for Cancer Research UK. Which is a wonderful contribution to Cheryl’s remarkable journey toward that £1 million milestone.

It’s a figure that represents so much more than money. It’s a room full of people who showed up, dug deep, and chose to be part of something bigger.

Save the Date — It’s Happening Again

The event was such a success that it’s coming back. Mark your calendars for 20th March 2027, and if you’d like to register your interest for next year, drop an email to donna@clnetworking.co.uk

Whether you’re looking to attend, sponsor, or simply show your support, we’d love to see you there.

Cloud Accounting Support Services: Making a Difference at the Pimp My Ride VIP Launch

Cloud Accounting Support Services: Making a Difference at the Pimp My Ride VIP Launch

At Cloud Accounting Support Services (CASS), we believe in not just supporting our clients financially but also in standing alongside them in their missions to make a difference. We had the incredible opportunity to do just that at the Pimp My Ride VIP launch, held at The Hub at St Mary’s. This unique event was hosted by our valued client, Grace Cares, and it was an evening to remember.

A Night of Art, Community, and Generosity

The event was a celebration of creativity and community, with local schools and colleges taking part in a heartwarming project to transform Zimmer Frames into stunning works of art. These talented students took on the challenge with enthusiasm, turning what might have been discarded into beautiful, meaningful pieces that showcased their skill and imagination.

Paul Barnes, our Managing Director at CASS, was honored to attend the event. “It was truly inspiring to see the creativity and passion that went into each design. The fact that these students were not just creating art, but also helping to save care equipment from landfill, made it all the more special,” Paul shared.

Paul wasn’t just a passive observer; he actively participated by casting his vote for his favorite design. His vote wasn’t just about choosing a winner; it was about supporting local talent and contributing to a cause that aligns with our values at CASS. The event was filled to capacity, with over 140 attendees who all shared a common goal: to be the change they want to see in the world.

Supporting Grace Cares’ Mission

Grace Cares is a remarkable organisation dedicated to saving care equipment from landfill, and the evening’s event was a testament to their mission. A highlight of the night was the raffle, which raised an impressive £600. But the generosity didn’t stop there.

Feeling compelled to further support Grace Cares, our team at CASS decided to match the £600 raised, doubling the total contribution to £1,200. This gesture was more than just a donation; it was a reflection of our commitment to the causes that matter to our clients and our community.

Hannah Montgomery, co-founder of Grace Cares, expressed her gratitude: “We are incredibly thankful to Team CASS for their generosity. Their matching donation not only boosts our funds but also shows the power of businesses coming together to support important causes. Together, we are making a real difference.”

A Proud Moment for CASS

For Paul and the entire team at CASS, the evening was about more than just business; it was about being part of something truly meaningful. “I’m proud to have been a part of this event and to have witnessed firsthand the incredible impact Grace Cares is making. At CASS, we believe in going beyond traditional client support, and this was a perfect example of how we can make a difference together,” Paul added.

As we reflect on the Pimp My Ride VIP launch, we are reminded of the power of community, creativity, and collaboration. It’s events like these that reinforce our belief in supporting our clients in every way possible, and we look forward to continuing this journey together.

Thank you to Grace Cares for allowing us to be a part of such a special evening, and to everyone who attended and contributed to making it a night to remember. Together, we can achieve so much more.

Celebrating Giving Back: CASS’s Contributions to Two Rivers Primary School’s Garden

At CASS, we believe in the power of community, social value and the joy of giving back. Last month, we had the privilege of supporting Two Rivers Primary School through a series of heartwarming initiatives that truly made a difference.

A Generous Donation and a Heartfelt Raffle

We kicked off our efforts with a donation of £500, aimed at supporting the school’s needs. In addition to this, we organised a raffle during our 7th birthday bash, specifically to raise funds for the school garden. The response was fantastic! We raised over £100, which was immediately put to good use.

Investing in the School Garden

With the funds raised from our raffle, Team CASS made some wonderful purchases to enhance the school’s garden. Here’s a glimpse of what we bought:

  • Compost: Essential for enriching the soil and promoting healthy plant growth.
  • Various Plants: A selection of beautiful plants to add color and life to the garden.
  • Ornaments: Charming decorations to brighten up a garden wall.
  • Wind Chime: To add a soothing musical element to the garden.
  • Fountain: For the peace garden, creating a tranquil and serene environment.

Hands-On Volunteering

The spirit of giving didn’t stop at donations and purchases. During the half-term break, Jodie, Kirsty, and Caitlin dedicated their time and effort to volunteer in the school garden. They spent a productive Wednesday morning tidying up, painting, and planting, ensuring the garden was ready for the children’s return.

Their hard work and dedication transformed the garden into a beautiful and welcoming space for the students. The new plants, vibrant decorations, and the peaceful sound of the wind chime and fountain created an inviting environment for learning and play.

A Heartfelt Thank You

We are incredibly proud of our team’s commitment to making a positive impact. Jodie, Kirsty, and Caitlin’s efforts exemplify the values we hold dear at CASS – community, generosity, and its hands-on involvement.

Thank you to everyone who participated in the raffle and supported our fundraising efforts. Your contributions have made a significant difference, and the children at Two Rivers Primary School now have a beautiful garden to enjoy.

Looking Forward

As we celebrate our 7th birthday year, we look forward to many more opportunities to give back to our community. Stay tuned for more updates on our charitable initiatives and how you can get involved.

Worth Unlimited Charity

Cloud Accounting recently sponsored a Black and Gold Charity Ball held in aid of Worth Unlimited (https://worthunlimited.co.uk/birmingham-solihull) who aim to inspire hope and change the lives of young people in Birmingham and Solihull. Paul commented

“We’re delighted to be able to support such a worthy charity inspiring young people to strive for bigger and better things. Janey, the local leader is a fantastic role model to these kids and you cannot fail but to be humbled”

Tamworth Boxing Club

#TeamCASS agreed to sponsor the amazing work that Tamworth Boxing Club do in the local community. The sponsorship has allowed Alan and the team at the Boxing Club to continue supporting those who cannot afford to purchase equipment to allow them to take part in the sport.

“We’re pleased that our donation has allowed the continued running to those less fortunate to take part in boxing rather than missing out”.

Tamworth Academy FC 11’s Away Shirt Sponsor

Paul, being an ex-professional footballer gave a little something back this season, by sponsoring the Tamworth Academy Under 11’s away kit. Taking part in sport and the health and well-being of the next generation is important to Paul and the team at CASS.

“We’re delighted to sponsor the away kit of the Tamworth Academy Under 11’s and give something back to a sport that gave me so much. I know how hard it is to raise funds, so when we were approached by Stuart Ealing, the manager it was an easy decision” commented Paul
