Paul Barnes
Founder & Managing Director
Paul founded CASS in 2017 with a simple belief: business owners deserve far more than a once-a-year set of accounts and a tax bill. He believes accounting should provide the clarity and confidence to make better decisions throughout the year, helping businesses grow stronger, become more profitable and avoid costly mistakes before they happen.
His route into accounting wasn't the traditional one. After leaving professional football, Paul built his career in finance, business systems and process improvement. He later became Finance Director in a growing business, giving him first-hand experience of the pressures, opportunities and challenges that business owners face every day. Those experiences shaped the philosophy that still drives CASS today: Giving You More Than Numbers.
Today, Paul leads an award-winning Xero Platinum Partner practice supporting more than 150 businesses across the UK. Alongside helping clients build stronger businesses, he regularly speaks on business growth and financial strategy, hosts the Giving You More Than Numbers podcast, is the author of The Three Pillars of Smart Finance, and continues to develop innovative technology that helps businesses and accountants work smarter. His passion remains the same as it was when CASS was founded: giving business owners the insight, confidence and support they need to make better decisions and build businesses that thrive.
